NIMA is a private, for profit Alaska Native owned corporation representing the business interests of the Cup'ig Eskimos from Nunivak Island. Corporate headquarters are based in Mekoryuk, Alaska on Nunivak Island in Western Alaska, 40 miles off the coast of Southwest Alaska in the Bering Sea. NIMA is committed to preserving the Cup’ig culture and traditions, which strengthen both our shareholders their descendents and NIMA. NIMA represents the only village on Nunivak, and has shareholders in Mekoryuk, Bethel, Anchorage, throughout Alaska and the United States, and Europe. NIMA acknowledges the importance of protecting our ancestral lands for the benefit of our shareholders; the development of our human and financial resources; and fostering of our relationships with the Cup’ig people and their descendants. |
